In the Community
Dene Adams® loves giving back to the community.
Two friends, Two organizations, Coming together as a united front.
Two friends, Anna and Andrea, went two different paths but with one goal, to change the world in which they lived. Now those paths are crossing and a collaboration has formed.
Andrea Shelton is a student, traveler, runner and activist. She was a youth director to an NGO in the Philippines for four and a half years where she worked with street youth and was a “mom” to girls who lived with her. She is committed to the education and restoration of girls who have been abused and exploited for the benefit of another. She saw a need for education in the community on domestic sex trafficking and services for girls who are sexually exploited in Kansas City and decided to take action.
One by One Project is a grassroots organization that functions by a volunteer-based staff. Our mission is to empower communities through awareness to end sex trafficking and to support local nonprofits who work to provide services to sex trafficking survivors in the Kansas City area.
It is estimated that there are between 100,000-300,000 minors sexually exploited each year in the United States. One by One Project is committed to bring change to the community by educating and empowering people to take action against this injustice.
We are committed to see victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation given hope of a new life, a second chance by partnering with organizations that offer outpatient and inpatient services. Our 2017 goal is to open a drop in center for those in need of resources and a hand up as they gain courage to get the help they need.
DENE ADAMS® AND ONE BY ONE PROJECT
Through the continued financial support from Dene Adams®, One by One Project is able to host awareness events in the community.
Together they will give hope to one.
Together they will change one person and one community at a time.
…that will change the world.
